Grab a round canvas and turn it into a diamond! This gemstone painting can take a little bit of patience, but we also found the process super satisfying and the end result is well worth the time.

Abstract painting makes a great addition to your living space and is a fun way to explore colour and form. You might like to practice in an art journal or on some spare paper before taking colour to canvas, but do what works best for you.

Here’s one for all those nature lovers out there. Bring the outdoors indoors with a tropical plant painting. We love the way Stefanie Calos has put some gold accents on the leaves to add something a little bit special.

You can turn a rock into almost anything with a little bit of creativity. For this acrylic painting idea we had a few rocks to choose from, but we were really drawn to one that was shaped like a sleeping tiger.

What’s your favourite flower? Whether it’s poppies or sunflowers, paint a field of them that will last a lifetime. For our poppy field painting, we used Dimension Acrylics to create some 3D effects.

You might have heard of string painting, but what about chain pull painting? For this project, you’ll need to lay down some white paint mixed with acrylic medium. Next, dip your chain or string in some paint, lay it onto the wet background and pull it through the paint. You can check out the technique in our tutorial.

Fluid, or ‘pour art’, is a trending style that anyone can create. It can take a few tries to get the hang of it, but the learning process is all part of the fun!

Here’s one for the whole family to enjoy! Lay down some masking tape to create a word or picture, and then cover the canvas in hand prints. Once it’s dry, you can then peel off the tape to reveal your masterpiece.

Creating a simple leaf triptych is a great way to add some life to your living area. You can use our leaf templates for this project, or you might like to have a look around your garden, the internet and some books to choose your own designs.

Get your creativity in full swing with pendulum painting. For this technique, mix acrylic paint with flow medium and pour it into an empty craft glue bottle. You will then need to tie your bottle to a beam or rig (like a pendulum) and position your canvas underneath it. Next is the fun part – take the cap off and let it start swinging.
