Make glitter slime
Little artists will have a ball making glitter slime, plus it’s a great activity for childhood development.
Playing and making glitter slime helps children to improve their gross and fine motor skills, concentration and coordination.
This project is great for those rainy days where kids just want to play. Best of all, you don’t need a lot to make glitter slime and the glitter is totally optional, so you won’t have to worry about the house becoming a glittery mess, which if you ask us, really is a win, win.
Extra materials you will need:
- 2 tsp green food colouring
- 3 cups shaving cream
- 5 tbs contact lens solution (make sure it has boric acid in it as this is the slime activator)
- 2 tsp of bicarb soda (to reduce stickiness)
Measure 1 cup of Mont Marte Clear School Glue and pour into a mixing bowl.
Add 2tsp of food colouring into the bowl and mix well.
Measure out 3 cups of shaving cream, then pour into the bowl and stir until the mixture is thick and fluffy.
Add 5tbs of contact lens solution and mix well, then stir in 2tsp of bicarb soda.
Make your slime sparkle by adding glitter! Then give it a knead to pack the glitter into the slime.
Now it’s time for the fun part – play time!
To dispose of glitter slime thoughtfully, it’s best to cut up the slime into small pieces before throwing it away in a general household garbage bin, cutting it up will help slime break down quicker than in a large chunk. Or alternatively make the slime in smaller batches and keep it in an air-tight container to store.
