Acrylic Paint Painting

Acrylic flowers for beginners

1.  Gradient painting background

-    Squeeze out some White pouring paint and Cerulean Blue onto the palette

-    Apply White pouring paint across the canvas using the foam brush, covering ¾ of the canvas

-    Dip the foam brush into Cerulean Blue and blend it into the white, creating a gradient effect

-    Allow the background to dry

2. Preparing the paint tool

-    Create a ball from tissue paper and wrap it in cling film

-    Tie the cling film with a rubber band to secure it

-    Squeeze out White pouring paint, Cadmium Red, and Bright Yellow onto the palette

-    Dip the cling film pad into the white paint so that ¾ of it is covered, then dip the end into the red

4. How to paint petals

-    Roll the cling film on your canvas from the white end to the red end to create a petal shape

-    Gently lift the pad off the canvas after each stamp

-    Work around the flower, adding petals and wiping the pad on a tissue between each petal to avoid excess contamination

-    Add as many petals as you wish!

-    Finish the flowers off by adding yellow stamen to the centre with the end of a brush

5. How to paint flower stems

-    Use a green acrylic paint pen to draw the main stalk of the flower

-    If you don’t have a paint pen, use Sap Green acrylic paint and a brush

-    Draw a zigzag line at the end of the stalk and add some flower buds
