Clay dolphin step-by-step

1.    Start by mixing clay colours to make the perfect dolphin blue. We mixed a light, mid, and warm blue but you can make your dolphin any colour you like!

2.    Pinch off and roll 5 small balls, 4 of equal size and one slightly smaller.

3.    Roll the main body of your blue clay between your hands to create a tapered teardrop shape.

4.    Flatten one of the balls into a circle and place it under the tail end. Cut a triangle out to create the tail shape.

5.    Flatten another ball and cut it into a triangle. Mould it onto the top of your dolphin for its dorsal fin!

6.    Repeat this process but for the pectoral fins, moulding them onto the sides of the belly. 

7.    Roll a cylindrical shape with the smallest ball for the dolphin's snout. Attach it to the rounded end face of your dolphin!

8.    Roll two tiny balls of black clay for the eyes and press them onto the head. Voila!
