Create a paint pour beach scene
In this project, we're setting the scene and stepping you through how to create your own paint pour beach scene.
Instead of tilting the canvas, we used a palette knife to mix the colours around on the canvas, then used a straw to blow the paint around, for a fun take on a pour painting.
Extra materials you’ll need:
- Plastic cups
- Straw
- Pouring acrylic paint in titanium white (optional)
Reach for a pack of our Golden Beach Pouring Acrylic Paint Kits and a palette knife.
Prop your canvas up using four plastic cups on either corner, to protect the table and begin pouring your gold colour across the top third of the canvas.
Add a lighter blue and darker blue towards the bottom.
Grab a palette knife and blend the blue colours together.
Begin blending the gold to cover the top of the canvas and smooth the gold into the blue.
Add drops of turquoise onto the blue and smooth out.
Add more of the darker blue and blend out into the turquoise.
Add slight curves to the paint using the palette knife.
Don’t forget the sides of the canvas!
As an additional step, grab some white pouring paint and pour some onto the water to create foamy waves.
Using a palette knife, spread the white into the wavy horizon.
Grab a straw and blow the white paint into the sand to blend, remember to blow out, not in!
Continue to blow the paint until you’re happy with the result.
All done!
